The Masai Mara Game Reserve is the most visited wildlife park in Kenya. With vast savannah grasslands playing host to a incredible array of wildlife including the 'big five', it's little wonder so many people put the Masai Mara high on their bucket list.

This wild and beautiful place extends from the plains of the Serengeti in neighbouring Tanzania and is THE place to see lions, cheetahs and other big predators attracted by grazing animals such as the Great Wildebeest.

Getting to the Masai Mara is actually a lot easier than you might think, with a 6-7 hour drive from Nairobi, or a short connecting flight from the capital's airport.

This raw and natural environment is still home to the Masai people, and you can visit the Masai village within the reserve for a taste of their traditional way of life.

Where is it?
The Masai Mara is a game reserve in the west of Kenya, close to the border with Tanzania.

Must see?
Get an early start and enjoy a tranquil hot air balloon ride over this most incredible of landscapes and see the Masai Mara come alive with an unforgettable sunrise.
