Itinerary


 Days 1-2 Fly to Chengdu

Fly overnight to Chengdu.


 Day 3 Chengdu, Pandas & Buddha

Visit the famous Panda Conservation Centre to see these charismatic animals before wandering Jinli Old Street and visiting Wuhou Temple.


 Day 4 Fly to Lhasa

Fly to Lhasa, the afternoon is at leisure to help you to acclimatise to the higher altitude.


 Day 5 Jokhang Temple & Bazaar

Sightseeing today includes a stroll around the Barkhor circuit where traditional dress, market stalls selling religious trinkets and the sound of chanted prayers create the atmosphere of a medieval carnival. We also visit the 7th Century Jokhang Temple, which is the most sacred in Tibet and the Sera Monastery, with about 600 monks in residence.


 Day 6 Potala Palace

Explore the crown jewel of Tibet, the Potala Palace. The palace is an architectural wonder that towers over the city with thousands of rooms filled with treasures such as intricate shrines and beautiful frescoes.


 Days 7-8 Gyantse & Shigatse

Travel to Shigatse and visit a local market. The next day visit Tashilhunpo Monastery, the traditional residence of the Panchen Lama, second only to the Dalai Lama, before continuing to New Tingri.


 Day 9 Mount Everest Base Camp

Drive to Mount Everest, and visit Base Camp to admire the stunning north face of the worlds tallest mountain peak at 8,848m. Visit Rongbuk Monastery and stay overnight in New Tingri.


 Days 10-11 Gyantse and Karuola Glacier

Drive around 7 hours from New Tingri to Gyantse and visit Gyantse Kumbum. Travel back to Lhasa, visting Karuola Glacier and Yamdrok Lake on the way.


 Days 12-13 Fly to Nepal and explore Bhaktapur

Fly to Kathmandu and transfer to Dhulikhel. Visit the traditional Nuwari houses and a local market. Travel to Bhaktapur and visit the the UNESCO listed Changu Narayan Temple before a short hike to Telkot admiring the stunning scenery. This afternoon wander Bhaktapur's cobblestone streets stopping at the Golden Gate, the Palace of 55 Windows on Durbur Square, Taumadhi Tole Square and Potter's Square.


 Days 14-15 Pokhara

Fly to Pokhara and take a walking tour of the city. The next day, visit Pokhara's mountain museum, devoted to the mountains of Nepal.


 Days 16-17 Chitwan National Park

Travel to Chitwan National Park, one of the last refuges of the One-Horned Rhino, for elephant bathing, safaris, jungle walks and bird watching.


 Day 18 Discover Kathmandu

Travel to exciting Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, busy with historic temples, palaces and shrines, stopping in Daman for lunch along the way.


 Day 19 Explore Patan

Visit nearby Patan, the second largest city in Nepal with a rich artistic heritage, to explore the UNESCO listed Royal Palace and Patans Durbar Square. Return to Kathmandu and tour the Bodhnath Stupa and Pashupatinath Temple.


 Day 20 Thamel Market

Sightseeing around Kathmandu including Swayambhunath Temple, Kumari Temple, bustling Thamel Market and Kathmandus Durbar Square.


 Day 21 Fly Kathmandu to UK

Fly to the UK arriving the following day.
