Meals: Eating is a big part of travelling. Travelling with G Adventures you experience the vast array of wonderful food that is available out in the world. Generally meals are not included in the trip price when there is a choice of eating options, to give you the maximum flexibility in deciding where, what and with whom to eat. It also gives you more budgeting flexibility, though generally food is cheap. Our groups tend to eat together to enable you to taste a larger variety of dishes and enjoy each other's company. There is no obligation to do this though. Your CEO will be able to suggest favourite restaurants during your trip. Vegetarians will be able to find a huge range of different foods - India is vegetarian heaven. For all trips please refer to the meals included and budget information for included meals and meal budgets.

 Day 1 Delhi

Arrive in Delhi at any time. Pick-up and transfer to your hotel included. There are no planned activities, so check into the hotel (check-in time is 12:00 noon).

 Day 2 Delhi (1B)

Enjoy a youth-led walk through Delhi by G Adventures-supported City Walk project. Later, explore Old Delhi with your CEO including a rickshaw ride through the busy streets, Jama Masjid (Great Mosque), Chandni Chowk local market, and Gurdwara Sikh Temple.

 Day 3 Delhi/Varanasi (1B)

Fly to Varanasi, the quintessential Indian holy city where millions of Hindus travel for pilgrimage, worship, or mourning.

 Day 4 Varanasi (1B)

Rise early for a boat ride along the Ganges to observe the sunrise, as well as the bathing and burial dawn rituals. Later, have breakfast at Open Hand, a vocational training cafe. G Adventures has partnered with Open Hand to provide dignified and meaningful job opportunities to India's underprivileged. Take an excursion to Sarnath later in the afternoon, where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon.

 Day 5 Varanasi/Khajuraho (1B)

One of the most popular destinations in India, Khajuraho is home to India?s largest group of medieval Hindu temples. Discovered in the 20th century and famous for their erotic sculptures depicting scenes from the Kama Sutra, the Khajuraho group of monuments is today protected as a UNESCO World Heritage site.

 Day 6 Khajuraho/Agra (1B)

Today we travel by private bus and then public train to Agra, home of the Taj Mahal. Traveling by train in India is truly a wonderful experience. It's a great way to meet locals and see the countryside as it unfolds in front of you.

Our journey by train will end in Agra, one of the Mughal Empire's most important cities.

 Day 7 Agra/Ranthambore National Park (1B, 1D)

The bustling city of Agra is best known as the site of India?s most famous landmark and testament to love, the Taj Mahal. In the morning we'll tour both Taj Mahal and the Agra Fort.

 Day 8 Ranthambore National Park (1B, 1D)

After a leisurely breakfast we'll head to India's "Pink City," also known as Jaipur. Founded in 1728, Jaipur has the distinction of being one of the best-planned pre-modern cities.

Explore Jaipur including the City Palace, Amber Fort, Jantar Mantar Observatory and Hawa Mahal. This evening, enjoy a culinary experience with a family in Jaipur, including a local market visit and cooking demonstration and meal in their home.

 Day 12 Jojawar/Udaipur (1B)

We continue on to Udaipur, famous for its lakes and Raj-era palaces. The most famous of these, and certainly the most photographed, is the Lake Palace, which we view from the boat. This beautiful white marble palace is now a hotel and entirely covers a small island in Lake Pichola. Originally known as the Jag Niwas, the palace took three years to build and was inaugurated in 1746.

 Day 13 Udaipur (1B)

During free time, journey out to the hilltop Monsoon Palace, summer resort of the Maharajas. Sit atop a hill with a panoramic view of the city?s lakes and watch the sunset.

 Day 14 Udaipur/Delhi (1B)

Fly to Delhi for the final evening with the option to enjoy a farewell dinner.
