Itinerary
➕ Days 1-2 Fly to Phnom Penh
Fly overnight to Phnom Penh. On arrival you will be met by your expert tour guide and transferred to your hotel. You have the rest of the day to explore this fascinating city.
➕ Day 3 Explore Phnom Penh
A somewhat European city of airy boulevards and colonial villas, scarred still by the events of 1975, in recent years Phnom Penh has been engulfed by energy and optimism making it a pleasurable place to be. Today's visits include the magnificent Royal Palace, Silver Pagoda and the National Museum, before reflecting on the past at the harrowing Tuol Sleng Museum and Killing Fields. Sunset at hilltop Wat Phnom rounds off the day.
➕ Day 4 Kep and Kampot
Depart for the beach town of Kep, stopping en route at Tonle Bati, a peaceful site of Angkor-era temples. Travel on to a pepper farm to learn about the renowned Kampot pepper. Take a boat ride out to Koh Thonsay where you can spend a few hours relaxing on the beach before returning to Kep for your overnight stay.
➕ Day 5 Journey to Sihanoukville
Visit the impressive cave temple of Phnom Chhnork before returning to Kampot for a walking tour. A charming riverside town, Kampot has a wealth of colonial architecture to discover. Travel to Sihanoukville, Cambodia's premier beach resort. Head up to the summit of Victory Hill for late afternoon views down over the city and Gulf of Thailand.
➕ Day 6 Sihanoukville at leisure
Spend the day at leisure - explore this lively town or just hit the beach for total relaxation. A delicious group lunch at a local restaurant is included.
➕ Day 7 Travel to Phnom Penh
Return to Phnom Penh with a stop en route at the Kirirom National Park. Here, footpaths wind their way amongst lush greenery and gushing waterfalls - keep an eye out for a variety of bird species.
➕ Day 8 Journey to Battambang
Journey north to Battambang stopping at Udong, a former capital city, and Touch Hill. Set in some of the country's most beautiful landscapes, Battambang is also home to Cambodia's grandest colonial architecture.
➕ Day 9 Battambang Countryside
Head out of town to the 12th century Prasat Banan Temple returning to Battambang via Cambodias only vineyard for wine tasting. Take a stroll through the village of Wat Kor, and explore a local house, for a glimpse of traditional Khmer life. Visit a local NGO, La Maison de Coco, where skills such as weaving are taught to locals.
➕ Day 10 Travel to Siem Reap
Drive towards Siem Reap, stopping at Puok District to visit the National Silk Centre. Learn about the silk creation process, and the growing and harvesting of mulberries. Continue to Siem Reap where the rest of the day is at your leisure.
➕ Day 11 Angkor Wat
Start the day with a visit to Ta Phrom. One of the most atmospheric temples, being slowly swallowed by the jungle. Continue to the fortified city of Angkor Thom. We start at the Southern Gate and continue to The Bayon, which is beautifully carved with numerous striking faces. You'll also visit the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King and the magnificent Angkor Wat.
➕ Day 12 Tonle Sap & Angkor Wat
This morning take a boat to see the floating villages of Siem Reap. Afterwards, you'll visit the temples of Banteay Srei and Banteay Samre before climbing to the summit of Pre Rup Temple at sunset for a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.
➕ Day 13 Temples & Siem Reap
Visit the magnificent temple of Beng Mealea, explore a local market and visit Les Artisan D Angkor, where disadvantaged youths are taught how to make traditional Cambodian crafts. In the evening, you'll enjoy an Apsara Dance Show.
➕ Day 14 Fly Siem Reap to UK
Buy any last minute souvenirs in Siem Reap, before catching an overnight flight to the UK via Bangkok, arriving home the following day.
